“We started getting phone calls. It was back-to-back calls. My dad would pick up
the phone and then immediately hang it up,” she said as William approached with
their breakfast.

“I picked up the phone and the person on the other end said my dad was a killer,”
she recalled. “He killed someone on the golf course.”

William set a plate in front of her, then sat down in the seat across from her.
Casey cut up her pancakes.

“Then, people started throwing golf balls through our windows,” she explained.
“Every single window in the front of the house was broken. Even my bedroom window.
But people kept throwing golf balls at us.”

She finished cutting her pancakes, grabbed the syrup and poured it over them. She
passed the syrup to William.

“I couldn't believe it. There must have been thousands of golf balls,” she said,
about to take the first bite of her pancake. “But the strange thing is, I felt that
the person he killed was you.”

Casey took her first bite. William sat silently, not sure if he waited to hear her
thoughts on the pancakes or stunned by the revelation her father killed him in her
dream. Casey took another bite.

“William,” Casey said. “These are seriously the best pancakes I have ever had.”

She took another bite.

“These are sooo delicious,” she said.

William hadn't started eating yet.
