Chapter XIX

“There's electricity and water!” William exclaimed. It amazed him the cottage had
modern amenities.
“What were you expecting, husband?” Casey said, placing a suitcase on the couch.
The cottage had been a wedding present from Lisa Carter. Her family owned it and
she offered them a five-day stay for their honeymoon. The cottage had an open
floor. The living room and kitchen were in the same space. William expected the
cottage would be smaller.
“I assumed it would be more rustic,” William confessed. “Just four walls and a bed.
No electricity or anything like that. The TV here is bigger than ours.”
“Ha!” Casey laughed. “Well, if you want, we can turn off all the lights and spend
the next five days lying in bed.”
“I wouldn't mind that.” William smiled.
“I know you wouldn't,” Casey replied.
She came up to him and placed her arms around him. He kissed the top of her head
and embraced her.
“I'm glad your dad took the marriage well,” Casey told him. “He was disappointed
but at least he didn't bawl his eyes out like my mom.”
“Or walk out of the room,” William added.
