to crack up, but from Mrs. Turner's point of view it may have appeared like Casey
was being submissive.

Mrs. Turner walked away in a huff.

Casey let out a laugh. “Brilliant, Will,” she said in between chuckles. “If I
didn't know you, I would have thought you were serious.”

Casey kissed his cheek. “We are going to be the talk of the old folks home for the
next week,” she said, beaming.

Daniel Further sat down at the table with them with a beer in his hand.

“So how many people are trying to get you two to marry?” he asked, setting his beer
down in front of him.

“Only like what,” William responded, turning to Casey, “Fifty? Sixty?”

“Oh, it's been at least seventy-three,” she corrected him, brushing a loose strand
of hair behind her ear. “Mrs. Mayfield asked four times.”

Daniel ran his hand through his salt and pepper hair. “That sounds like her.”

“Now, it is time for the first dance of Mister and Missus Jeremy Kerns!” the DJ
announced.

“One” by the band U2 started playing over the speakers. Willow and her new husband
walked onto the dance floor and began dancing.

“What song are you going to dance to first at your wedding?” William asked Casey,
leaning in.

“Well, we won't have any first dance at our wedding, Will,” Casey whispered in his
ear. “Our wedding will be at the courthouse.”

“I can take care of the parking tickets at the same time,” William teased.

“See, we are practical,” Casey said, grabbing his chin and shaking his head.

After the song ended, the DJ announced it was time for the father- daughter dance.
