Emily kissed him.

“So what do you think?” she asked.

“That sounds reasonable,” he admitted. Her arguments made sense, though he didn’t
know if he wanted to have her move in right away. They’ve only been hanging out for
a month.

“Great,” she said. She kissed him again and hopped off the couch. “I'm going to go
grab my things.”

She hurried into the bedroom to get dressed and was out the door less than fifteen
minutes later.

William sat on the couch for a moment. Did he agree to let her move in?

William began cleaning up after breakfast, wondering if he had been clear about
agreeing that her reasons made sense, not her actually moving

in. Then he thought about the events of the previous night and pushed that thought
out of his head.

Four hours later, Emily burst through the door and exclaimed, “Honey, I’m home!”

She carried more boxes, bags, and suitcases than William thought could possibly fit
in her car. It was enough stuff to more than double the contents of his apartment.

A TV. So many clothes. So many shoes. So much makeup. So many bottles of shampoo,
conditioner, lotion, and body wash. She seemed to have a differently colored loofah
for each day of the week. She brought over things he never would have assumed
anyone needed. Four hair dryers. Who had four hair dryers?

William sighed.

Then, he began to smile when he saw how happy Emily appeared. She looked so excited
to find the perfect places for all her belongings. It wouldn’t be a mistake,
William thought.
