being the center of attention.

Six months ago, he graduated from high school. Now, he was getting married and
would be a father by the end of next week.

Willow came out of the art room and joined him on the couch.

“Everything is going to go great,” she said. “I know it. I can tell you guys love
each other.”

“Thanks,” William said.

“I can tell you’re nervous,” she added. “I know we don’t always get along, but I
love you, big brother. I’m proud of you. You’re going to be a great husband and
father.”

She hugged him. “Because I know Casey. And she won’t give you a choice.”

William laughed. “She definitely won’t give me a choice.”

“It’s days like this I wish Mom was still here,” Willow said softly. “And Grandpa.”

“Me too,” William replied.

Her eyes welled. He looked away, unsure what to add.

“If it wasn’t for the picture on the mantle, I probably wouldn’t even remember what
she looked like,” she said. “I don’t even remember her voice.”

“I don’t either,” William admitted. “We were both pretty young when she died.”

“We were,” Willow said, wiping her cheek. “Go get ready.”

“Yeah, I probably should.”

“And fix your hair. You’re still rocking your bedhead,” she teased.

William ran a hand through his hair. Spikes stuck out in all directions.

“I thought this was the style nowadays.”

“I don’t think you know anything about style,” Willow said.

“Probably not,” William said, standing from the couch.
