sport. He wasn't sure how involved uncles were supposed to be in the lives of
nieces and nephews.

William battled with the urge to grab his phone out of his pocket. He didn't have
social media but would spend his time googling things when he grew bored. He wanted
to look up gallery etiquette for attending a girlfriend's art show. He wasn't sure
if he needed to stay by Casey for most of the show or let her mingle on her own.

He knew she wouldn't have any family there supporting her. Her father sold off his
insurance company years ago and her parents moved to Florida to enjoy retirement.
Casey was an only child as were both her parents so no aunts, uncles or cousins.

“The doors are about to open,” Casey said with understated excitement. She fanned
her face with her hand.

“I'm excited for you,” William told her sincerely. He was proud that her work was
chosen for the gallery opening.

She hugged him tight.

“Are you bored yet?” she asked William, arching an eyebrow.

“Never,” William responded. “I think I'm in my element.”

“Your element?” Casey asked.

“Yeah,” William said. “I get to stand here looking all dapper while you have to
talk to everyone. I'm in the zone.”

Casey grabbed his tie and pulled him close.

“Well, my dapper looking boyfriend,” she said. “Try not to have too much fun while
I'm talking to everyone.”

“I would never,” William said with mock offense.

“Well, if you do get bored,” she said, giving him a kiss. “Don't be afraid to come
interrupt me.”
