wanted to make sure you didn't throw yourself under Falkor trying to get out of
buying me lobster.”
“Oh, I still planned on that,” William responded. “But I got injured before I could
get your number.”
Casey raised an eyebrow.
“And I didn't want to seem like a creep and call the school asking to speak with
you,” he added.
“It probably is better that you didn't do that,” she said.
Casey reached into her purse and grabbed a small notebook and pen. She scribbled on
it for a moment, ripped off the sheet and handed it to William.
“Here's my number,” she said. “Once you’re up to it, let's set up a date.”
“For lobster?” William asked.
“No,” she told him. “I can't eat lobster. Just the thought of having to boil it
alive makes my skin crawl. I'll let you pick the place and you can surprise me.”
“Mc—”
“No, McDonald's,” Casey said, cutting him off with a laugh. “Maybe lobster will be
back on the menu.”
