like a dog with a long body than a dragon. A woman facing away from them sat in
front of the dragon working by herself. “Go talk to her and she will get you
started.”
“Thanks, Willow,” he told his sister.
“Oh, you can hold off on that thanks for now,” she said, hinting at something else.
William arched an eyebrow.
“I have to go check on Danny,” his sister said before William could question her.
“There was a wardrobe issue and I need to make sure there will be an Atreyu.”
Willow ran off leaving William to go help with gluing cotton balls on a paper mâché
dog. He navigated around the set pieces, Styrofoam rocks which were painted black
and a giant, unpainted paper mâché snail.
He heard the woman humming. He couldn't make out the tune with the noise from the
students, parents and teachers running around on the stage.
“Hello,” William said as he reached the dragon.
The woman turned around. He recognized her but couldn't place her. Her blue eyes
seemed to spark something in William.
“I was told to come help you with your balls,” William said. “Cotton balls.”
The woman chuckled.
“Thank you, it would take me the next two weeks to glue all these on Falkor,” she
told him. “You can start on the other side.”
William walked around to the other side of the dragon and knelt beside it across
from the woman. She continued dabbing cotton balls onto a paper plate filled with
glue, then pressed the cotton ball onto the dragon for a few seconds to make sure
it would stick.
“I'm William,” he introduced himself. He realized where he had seen her before.
