“I'm excited,” William responded.
A bridesmaid tapped Willow on the shoulder. She turned to her, exchanged a few
words, then turned back to her brother.
“I can't believe you're going to be a stay-at-home dad,” she told her brother as
the bridesmaid pulled her away. “You two are such a modern couple! I love it!”
Jeremy smiled politely, then followed his bride into the crowd.
“We are pretty modern, aren't we?” Emily asked.
“I guess we are,” William responded.
She wrapped her arms around William and hugged him. Then she saw the waiter with
the tray of hors d'oeuvres. She released her grip and stopped the waiter, taking
half the bruschetta from the tray.
“These are so delicious,” Emily told him in between bites. “I don't even care if I
ruin my dinner.”
A few minutes later, a voice on the PA system announced that the guests could enter
the hall to await the wedding party entrance. Emily finished the food on her plate,
then they entered the reception hall.
