drool while pretending to sleep.

“Welcome to Applebee's,” the waitress said. “My name is Sarah and I'll be your
server tonight.”

William picked his head up.

“Sorry to wake you up,” the waitress told him.

“It’s fine,” Casey interjected. “He worked hard all day in the factory.”

“You work at Gabron?” Sarah asked, looking at William.

“Um,” William didn’t know how to respond. He only knew his father worked at Gabron.

“He works at a Bagel Bite factory two towns over,” Casey said.

“I do,” William’s eyes widened. He didn’t know where Casey was going with it.

“He makes imitation bagel bites,” Casey added.

“Yes,” William replied. He began adding more details. “I am the sauce dispensing
technician at the imitation Bagel Bite factory.”

William turned to Casey. She smirked and tried to hold in a laugh.

“Sounds fun. Can I start you guys off with a drink?” Sarah asked.

David got a draft beer, Lisa a margarita, but Casey and William both ordered
non-alcoholic drinks.

“It was you,” Casey told William after the waitress left.

“I still don't believe that,” William responded, hoping the comment would come off
as a joke. “And what was that about me working in a Bagel Bite factory?”

“I don’t know,” Casey responded. “It just seemed like a good career for someone who
falls asleep at a table in Applebee’s”

“I’ve been told I could fall asleep anywhere,” William informed her.

“Casey just moved back to town,” Lisa informed William.

“You did?” William asked. “Why would you do that?”
