William figured Darryl didn’t pay for most of his tickets. He hated working after
him, worried the boss might think he was stealing. But no one ever said anything.

Back in the car, William handed Casey the slushie. She tore open the straw and
started drinking.

“Slow down there, Casey,” he warned. “You’ll get brain freeze.”

Casey pulled the straw from her mouth. “I’d rather have brain freeze than baby May
kicking my insides.”

“Touche,” William said.

William was sent out for slushies two more times. Casey was finishing her second
one when he arrived with the third.

“I think the baby is coming early,” she informed him.

“Wait, really?” he asked.

“Yes,” she replied.

“Well, hopefully she never does the math and realizes that our anniversary is the
same as her birthday,” William said.

“We'll just tell her that the bride gives birth on the day of the wedding,” Casey
started. “If she's like you, then she'll never question it. If she's like me, she
won't care about those types of things.”

“Either way is fine with me,” William said. “Hopefully, she'll take after one of
us.”

“I hope so too,” Casey replied. She took a deep breath and began humming a song.
William couldn’t place it at first, but it was the same tune she’d been whistling
the day they met back in January.

“What song is that?” William asked.
