I’ve ever seen. He might as well stop making movies now.”

She hit rewind. “Though, I think they should’ve ended it with him banging on the
walls.”

“Really? But that wouldn’t have been a happy ending,” William said.

“I know, but it would’ve been more powerful. Truman pounding on the walls,
realizing there’s no escape. That he’s trapped, forced to live the rest of his life
in a TV show,” she said. “Not everything needs to be wrapped up in a bow.”

Once the tape finished rewinding, Casey stood and popped in the second movie.

“You better not fall asleep during this one,” she warned. “It was my favorite movie
a few years ago.”

“I promise,” William replied. “I had enough syrup to stay awake until Monday.”

She fast-forwarded through the previews and hit play as the studio logo came on
screen.

Casey watched with a soft smile, not looking away from the screen. William,
meanwhile, sat politely, but couldn’t stop imagining Sinbad yelling at his agents
for getting him into this mess.

When the credits rolled, Casey turned to him, clearly waiting for his thoughts.

William gave a faint smile. “You actually think that’s a good movie?”

“I never said Shazaam was a good movie,” she replied, leaping into his lap. “I said
it was my favorite.”

She kissed him, her hand trailing down his chest before pausing at the pocket of
his flannel shirt.

Breaking the kiss, she gazed into his eyes.

He forgot he put the condom in that pocket. He bit his lip.

“Oh, Will...” she whispered, kissing him again.
