Fuck.
I got up and ran to the bathroom.
I won’t bore you with the details but I felt ninety percent better right away. Then all the way better after everything else came out. Honestly, I’m shocked by how fast my body liquified the two breakfast sandwiches. Maybe I have more than one power.
I sat there for a few minutes in case something else was brewing.
I thought back to my previous life. I don’t think that there was time before this started that I didn’t spend 45 minutes on the toilet just playing around on my phone. I could still see some of the Candy Crush or whatever game it was when I closed my eyes.
I realized it was stupid to be missing a stupid game and decided to clean up and go back out there.
It took a lot of toilet paper by the way.
I went back into the lobby, the only thought in my head then was that I hoped there wasn’t any lingering diarrhea smell on me. That would be embarrassing. But then I remembered how the former guy smelled so I assumed even if I did smell, none of the people would notice due to years of being around him.
But when I got out, it was just McDonald’s workers.
No one from the campaign was anywhere to be seen.
I walked outside. Everyone was gone. They left me.
I’ll admit that my first thought was how the hell was I going to find them. I didn’t have a phone or any of their numbers. I also thought they’d feel really stupid when they realized they left me behind.
Then, I realized something.
I was free.
