William chuckled at the memory of his friend getting choked out. He also remembered Blaine making sure all the tears were wiped from Eric’s eyes before they went in for the ceremony.

“Do you guys remember the magic step?” William asked. It had been one of the only memories he retained from his elementary school days that required no prompting.

“You can’t lie when sitting on the magic step,” David said with an ominous tone.

“You sure as fuck can’t,” Eric added.

“I don’t think they ever found out who spilled the chocolate milk on that kid’s seat,” William told them.

“I think you were the prime suspect,” David replied. “You were the only one at the table who was drinking chocolate milk.”

“Drinking it, yes,” William informed them. “Chocolate milk is delicious. I’m not going to waste it on a prank.”

William didn’t know who actually spilled their chocolate milk on the kid’s seat. He only knew that he didn’t do it. Milk cartons had four ounces of milk in them. His was gone in two small chugs.

He never thought it was fair that his friend group got blamed for it. And it didn’t seem fair to him that the old principal took them to the auditorium steps and told them they were magic and they couldn’t lie.
