IV.
Samantha and Karissa watched the battle on the television from the back
room of the church. Both were waiting for something major to happen.
Nothing did. It was just two puppets trying to bite each other.
“Can we watch something else?” Karissa asked.
“No dear,” Samantha responded, staring at Luke on the television. “We need
to watch this. Luke is fighting for the city.”
“It’s so boring,” the daughter responded.
“Something will happen,” the mother replied. “When you’re older, you will
be glad that you were able to watch this.”
“I doubt it,” the bored child muttered.
