He wondered if David knew her. David had been a bit friendly with their classmates than he had been. He wondered if David knew what she was up to or if she was still in town.
William wondered if it would be weird to ask about her. He did just tell David that he wasn’t going to date until the divorce was final.
“Fuck!” Eric yelled from the field. His clothes were soaked. “I think my clothes are wet,”
“They are,” David informed his friend.
“It’s cold,” Eric said as he started rubbing his arms.
“We should probably get him home before he gets sick,” David told William.
“Yeah,” William responded.
William went down to the field to help Eric back to the car. Even his shoes were soaked.
“Come on,” William said, guiding Eric.
“Happy birthday, buddy,” Eric told him then kissed him on the forehead.
“Thanks,” William responded.
