Next stop was their high school. William assumed that they would up there at some point since this started at the elementary school. He figured the middle school would have come first but he wasn’t the one who planned this.
“Now time for some more memories,” David told him.
“I definitely remember a bit more of high school than elementary school,” William confessed.
“Well, more important stuff happened here,” David responded.
They got out of the care and walked up to the school. Eric tried opening the doors but they were locked. The students still hadn’t returned to in-school learning and it was a Saturday. William would have been more surprised if it was unlocked.
Eric peaked through the windows of the door, “Hello!!”
David started walking towards the football field and commanded “Follow me.”
William obeyed but Eric stayed at the door and knocked a few times. William wondered how long his drunk friend would wait before realizing no one was in the school.
“So how’s it going?” David asked.
“I’m doing good,” William told him. “It’s kind of weird having the kids every other week but I’m doing fine.”
“Have you started dating again?”
“No, the divorce isn’t finalized for a few more weeks,” William informed him. “It doesn’t feel right to start trying to meet people while I’m still technically married.”
